Kevin holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Western New England University and an M.Ed. from Springfield College. He has worked in Residence Life for over 15 years and has been at RISD since 2014. He provides departmental oversight and focus on planning and development, budgeting and resource management, goal setting, and cross functional strategic alignment.

DMurphyDaniel Murphy
Associate Director for Residence Education

Dan is originally from a small town in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. He holds a B.S. in Education from Bucknell University, where he minored in studio art and concentrated on incorporating art into the K-6 curriculum, and a M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. In his spare time you can find Dan walking his dog or going for a run around Providence, exploring new coffee shops, and finding the best desserts in Rhode Island.

ameschisenAnu Meschisen
Associate Director for Housing Operations

Anu was born in Bombay, India where she lived for a majority of her childhood. She completed her bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education from Providence College in 2010.  Anu began working at RISD in 2014 to make student housing processes more efficient and streamlined. Anu enjoys traveling, cleaning, gardening, and snuggling with her two cats.

Housing Operations Coordinator

Carly is from Pennsylvania by way of New York where she received her degrees in Apparel Design and Illustration from The Fashion Institue of Technology. After a brief stint curating, she taught Maritime studies at Kingsborough College in Brooklyn before moving to New England in 2015 to sail professionally in Newport, RI. Carly is excited to be back in the arts community and enjoys supporting and working with young artists. When not at RISD, Carly enjoys yoga, thrifting, horseback riding and summer days in Newport.

Brandon MorrisB. Morris
Administrative Coordinator

Brandon was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. He received his BS in Sports Management from Johnson & Wales University, where he is currently also pursuing his MS in Sports Leadership. He began working for RISD in October of 2018. During his free time, he loves to listen to music, watch sports, shop and read fashion blogs. He is also a big fan of the local coffee scene!

MHeyingMelynda Heying
Assistant Director for Community Development

Melynda makes her way to RISD via Milton, MA from Minnesota with a B.A. in English and mass communications with a minor in editing and publishing along with an M.S. in Counseling and Student Affairs – both from Minnesota State University Moorhead (go Dragons!). She is excited to be supporting Residence Life at RISD in a myriad of ways, but is most eager to support students’ wellness and to be immersed in a highly diverse and forward-thinking community. Some of Melynda’s favorite things include forcing affection upon her cat, Sir Elliott McSquigglePants, drinking coffee at inappropriate times to drink coffee, and rating the quality of poutine at restaurants throughout Providence.

AngelPro

Angel Madrigal
Resident Director for First Year Housing

Angel was born and raised in Chicago Illinois, and loves the city skyline especially at night with the moon’s light glimmering off the tall skyscrapers. He holds a B.A in Intercultural Studies, with a focus in Latin American Studies, which he received from Elmhurst College. Angel is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Higher Education and Leadership, with a focus in Social Justice and Equity Issues. In his free time you can find him either painting, reading a comic book, or binge watching Netflix. He identifies as a night owl, and has been known to fall deep into Youtube videos that either discuss conspiracy theories, or discovering new baking recipes.

ClogsdonCaley Logsdon
Area Coordinator for 15 West

Originally from Kentucky, Caley joined the RISD Residence Life team in 2017 as the Area Coordinator of 15 West.  Caley holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Popular Cultural Studies from Western Kentucky University as well as a master’s degree in Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Caley most recently joined us from Arizona State University – Tempe, where she worked professionally in University Housing with Barrett, the Honors College.  Outside of work, you’ll usually find Caley hanging upside down on the aerial silks or trapeze, trying out new restaurants around Providence, enjoying WaterFire, or reading a good book.  Caley is excited to be a part of the RISD community and looks forward to advancing social justice and inclusion as well as artist mindfulness and well-being in her time here.

This includes: supervising Resident Advisors and Advocate for Inclusion in Residence, providing programming and resources to meet student needs, serving in 24/7 emergency on call rotation, addressing any facility or roommate concerns, mediating issues within the community, and providing any support students need while living on campus.

Community Coordinator: First Year Area
There are 2 Community Coordinators for the First Year Area. A professional live-in staff member who oversees all community development within the building. This includes: supervising Resident Advisors and Advocate for Inclusion in Residence, providing programming and resources to meet student needs, serving in 24/7 emergency on call rotation, addressing any facility or roommate concerns, mediating issues within the community, and providing any support students need while living on campus.

Community Coordinator: Hill Houses, Benefit St. Apartments, and Charles Landing
A professional live-in staff member who oversees all community development within the building. This includes: supervising Resident Advisors and Advocate for Inclusion in Residence, providing programming and resources to meet student needs, serving in 24/7 emergency on call rotation, addressing any facility or roommate concerns, mediating issues within the community, and providing any support students need while living on campus.
