Director of Residence Life
Kevin holds B.S.and B.A. Degrees from Western New England University and an M.Ed. from Springfield College. He has worked in Residence Life for over 15 years and has been at RISD since 2014. He provides departmental oversight and focus on planning and development, budgeting and resource management, goal setting, and cross functional strategic alignment.

Senior Associate Director for Residence Education
Josh was born and raised in Rhode Island. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from Stonehill College. He received his master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he spent 11 years prior to coming back to New England. Josh is passionate about leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and helping students as they navigate RISD. He enjoys cooking, spending time with his family and friends, and exploring Providence.

Associate Director for Housing Operations
Anu was born in Bombay, India where she lived for a majority of her childhood. She completed her bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education from Providence College in 2010. Anu began working at RISD in 2014 to make student housing processes more efficient and streamlined. Anu enjoys traveling, cleaning, gardening, and snuggling with her two cats.

Mary Anne Shanahan
Mary Anne has worked at RISD for over 24 years and in ResLife office for over 14 years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Consumer Service from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mary Anne currently manages the front desk and the work study student staff. She also holds RISD Continuing Education certificates in Advertising and Print Design, Digital Photography, and Interior Design.

Resident Director, First Year Housing
Britt is a native New Englander, having grown up in Central Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications from Salem State University, and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel at the University of Rhode Island. In her undergraduate studies, Britt worked as an RA and SRA in first and second year communities. She is passionate about helping students from all backgrounds find their voice, and thrive as leaders and global citizens. Britt enjoys dancing, baking, shopping at flea markets, and exploring the city with her dog, Coco.

Area Coordinator for Hill Houses & Apartments
Stephen is a born and raised Hoosier, and is excited to call Rhode Island home. He holds a B.S. in new media communication with a concentration in graphic design from Indiana University Kokomo and an M.S. in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University. In his spare time, Stephen loves travelling, looking at airplanes, listening to podcasts, and annoying his cat Laurel.

Alexis Lopez Resident Director for Hill Houses
Alexis grew up in Miami, Florida. She has worked in different parts of the world and strives to create culturally diverse communities through patience, compassion and respect. She believes that a strong supportive community is built on open communication and equity.

Area Coordinator for 15 West
Originally from Kentucky, Caley joined the RISD Residence Life team in 2017 as the Area Coordinator of 15 West. Caley holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Popular Cultural Studies from Western Kentucky University as well as a master’s degree in Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Caley most recently joined us from Arizona State University – Tempe, where she worked professionally in University Housing with Barrett, the Honors College. Outside of work, you’ll usually find Caley hanging upside down on the aerial silks or trapeze, trying out new restaurants around Providence, enjoying WaterFire, or reading a good book. Caley is excited to be a part of the RISD community and looks forward to advancing social justice and inclusion as well as artist mindfulness and well-being in her time here.

Kyle currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island in Health Care Administration. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in the same field. During his undergraduate studies, he served as an RA in two dynamically different communities. And, as a coordinator at the Student Union, Kyle also gained experience planning and facilitating programs on a campus wide scale.
